I grew up loving Japanese animation and video games, but not really loving studying in general. In 10th grade I got the chance to study Japanese at my high school through a distance learning program, and it changed my life. It inspired a love for learning and academics. It gave me purpose. I studied English and Linguistics in university so I could go to Japan and have a successful career teaching English. That is currently what I am doing now, and I must say that I love it in ways I would have never expected.
