Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in Japanese Language at George Washington University

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at The George Washington University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor or instructor position in the Japanese Language beginning late August 2022 and lasting until the end of May 2023. The successful candidate is expected to be actively engaged in contemporary teaching approaches and language learning technologies, and to teach all levels of Japanese language (3-3 teaching load). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have Doctoral or MA degree in hand in linguistics, Japanese literature, or a related field.

  • Candidate must have native or near native fluency in Japanese and English and must have evidence of excellence in teaching Japanese at the college level.
